Cuirass
A Cuirass is a harness worn by the receiver/bottom during impact play. Made from supple and thick calfskin leather, it covers areas on the back that should not be directly impacted during such play (lower back, coccyx, spine, and optionally, genitalia).
The Cuirass provides light protection and serves as a visual and audible indicator when an impact hits one of these ‘no-go’ zones. It acts as a communication tool, allowing for more secure play, especially with an unfamiliar partner or someone learning a new practice like whipping.
This harness has no metal components to avoid interference with impacts. It closes and adjusts using concealed Velcro, allowing for precise fitting to one’s body shape and posture during play, even if their weight fluctues.
